Conor McGregor rips Khabib Nurmagomedov for selling NFTs, Khabib fires back calling him an ‘absolute liar’

Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov are back in a heated war of words, reigniting one of the fiercest rivalries in MMA history — this time over NFTs.

Khabib recently announced an exclusive NFT launch called Papakhas, referencing the traditional Dagestani hat, marketed as digital collectibles symbolizing Dagestan’s culture and heritage. He promoted the launch on Telegram, and this week he stated that all NFTs had officially sold out.

McGregor reacted aggressively, accusing Khabib of exploiting his late father’s name and Dagestani culture to promote and sell the NFTs, claiming fans were scammed after content related to the NFTs was allegedly deleted online. McGregor tweeted:

“There is just no way good guy khabib used his late fathers name, as well as Dagestan’s culture, to scam his fans and fire sell a bunch of digital NFT’s online and then delete all of the content after they were sold, leaving his fans robbed of their money? There is just no way good guy do this.”

Khabib quickly responded, firing back at McGregor’s claims, calling him an “absolute liar” and defending the project as a legitimate digital collectible with real value, emphasizing cultural significance rather than any fraudulent intent.

“You absolute liar,” Nurmagomedov wrote. “You will always try to darken my name, after you got destroyed that night, but you will never achieve that! Yes, good guys don’t do that. They don’t create exclusive digital gifts with real time value, that you can share with your friends and family. Gifts in the shape of Papakha — hat that symbolize traditions and culture of Dagestan people.”

Khabib argued the NFTs were meant to preserve and celebrate Dagestani culture, not exploit it, and emphasized their availability only through Telegram.

McGregor wasn’t done, again demanding Khabib apologize and mocking his use of the word “gift.”

“Apologize this instant for using your late father’s name to sell these ‘gifts’ that cost your fans so much of their money. Also to sell something means it is not a gift you low IQ troglodyte! That is the direct opposite of what ‘gift’ means. Scamming on your dead daddy’s name. Shame.”

The back-and-forth highlights their years-long rivalry that began before their historic clash at UFC 229 in 2018, where Khabib dominated and submitted McGregor in Round 4 before an infamous post-fight brawl. Although both have retired from MMA, their feud remains alive on social media — and this latest exchange shows it is as heated as ever.
