Jon Jones shares UFC White House update, wrestles Khamzat Chimaev, and fires RPG

Jon Jones continues to live in the spotlight, offering fans updates on his potential UFC return, international travels, and surprising activities outside the cage.

The former two-division UFC champion, who briefly announced retirement in June, has made it clear he is interested in competing at the planned UFC event at the White House in June 2026. Although the event’s date and logistics are still being finalized, Jones has expressed strong interest in facing current light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira. However, he says that negotiations are not currently in his control.

Responding to fans on social media, Jones confirmed that talks are “out of my hands” but emphasized, “I’m getting in shape” and “completely capable of hopping into training camp.” He also added that he does not require main event status if the Pereira fight happens, showing unusual flexibility for a star of his magnitude.

However, UFC CEO Dana White has publicly expressed hesitation about placing Jones on the historic card, citing the 38-year-old’s past controversies outside the octagon, which have affected both his career and the UFC’s planning on multiple occasions.

Outside of fight negotiations, Jones shared photos and videos from his recent trip to Chechnya, where he spent time with Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov. Jones trained with Khamzat Chimaev, wrestled with him on the mats, and even fired a shoulder-mounted RPG (rocket-propelled grenade) during his visit. While Kadyrov has been accused of human rights violations and was sanctioned by the United States in 2017, Jones described him as “a great host.”

Jones appeared relaxed and energetic throughout his trip, fueling speculation that he is preparing for a comeback. Whether he eventually competes at UFC White House or returns under different circumstances, “Bones” is clearly staying close to the fight world both in spirit and in activity.

The UFC has not yet commented on Jones’ status for the White House event or the potential Pereira matchup, but fan interest is already high.
