The stage is set for one of the biggest nights in UFC history, as UFC 322 takes over Madison Square Garden this Saturday with two champions aiming to make history. In the main event, Jack Della Maddalena defends his welterweight title against the dominant Islam Makhachev in what many are calling one of the most exciting stylistic clashes of the year.
Della Maddalena has been nearly unstoppable, riding an incredible 18-fight win streak that includes some of the most polished striking in the sport. Makhachev, the reigning lightweight king, enters the bout with 15 straight victories and is looking to become a rare two-division champion. The Australian striker versus the Russian grappler is a classic matchup that has fans debating who will impose their style first.
In the co-main event, another potential two-division storyline unfolds as UFC flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko faces former strawweight champion Zhang Weili. Both women are elite technicians and proven finishers, and a win for Zhang would make her one of the few women to hold titles in two divisions. Shevchenko, meanwhile, hopes to silence any doubts after going 3-1-1 in her last five fights and remind the world why she’s one of the best to ever do it.
The rest of the main card is stacked with action. Sean Brady takes on Michael Morales in a crucial welterweight contender fight, Leon Edwards meets rising star Carlos Prates in a potential Fight of the Night, and veteran Beneil Dariush faces the surging Benoit Saint Denis in a lightweight battle that could shake up the rankings.
The prelims also bring plenty of excitement, with middleweight prospect Bo Nickal squaring off against submission ace Rodolfo Vieira and Erin Blanchfield taking on Tracy Cortez in a high-stakes women’s flyweight showdown. Fans tuning in early will also catch Angela Hill against Fatima Kline and Pat Sabatini battling Chepe Mariscal on the early prelims.
UFC 322 airs live on ESPN+ pay-per-view starting at 10 p.m. ET for the main card, with prelims kicking off at 8 p.m. ET on ESPNews and ESPN+. Early prelims begin at 6 p.m. ET exclusively on UFC Fight Pass.
With two potential double champions on the same night, UFC 322 promises fireworks from start to finish and could redefine the pound-for-pound landscape.
