The UFC is heading to the White House for the first time ever on June 14, marking one of the most historic moments in sports and politics alike. The event — set to unfold on the White House lawn with full staging, lighting, and even fighter entrances from the Oval Office — was first announced by President Donald Trump as part of his vision to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary in 2026.
According to UFC owner Ari Emanuel, it’s Dana White who deserves the credit for making the idea a reality. Emanuel, the CEO of TKO Group Holdings, praised White’s long-standing friendship with Trump, which dates back decades.
“You actually have to talk to my partner Dana White,” Emanuel said on the Norges Bank Investment Management Podcast. “He had an incredible relationship with President Trump since the early days when nobody would host the UFC. Trump was the first to give them a chance in Atlantic City — when people were calling it cockfighting.” 🤝
Emanuel himself once represented Trump during his Apprentice TV era but emphasized that White was the driving force behind the UFC White House card — a project that’s expected to draw massive global attention regardless of political stance.
White’s loyalty to Trump is well documented. From speaking at the Republican National Convention in 2016 to openly supporting Trump’s 2024 campaign, White has remained one of Trump’s most vocal allies in sports. 🗳️
However, with the current political climate in the U.S. becoming increasingly volatile — especially after the assassination of right-wing commentator Charlie Kirk in Utah earlier this year — Emanuel expressed hope that the country can move toward unity instead of further division.
“I hope this is a watershed moment,” Emanuel said. “People need to realize this path is bad for the U.S. and the world. Politics shouldn’t turn into a combat sport.” 🕊️
Emanuel also hinted that politics may get even more interesting in 2028, especially if his brother, Rahm Emanuel — former Obama chief of staff and ex-Chicago mayor — decides to run for president.
“Hopefully he runs,” Ari said. “I think he’s the most qualified guy out there for the Democratic Party.” 🗽
With UFC and the White House joining forces, this upcoming event promises to be one of the most unprecedented crossovers in sports history — blending fighting, politics, and entertainment all in one stage. 💣🔥
