Matchmaking for Brendan Allen, Mike Malott, Aiemann Zahabi, and more after an action-packed night in Canada
UFC Vancouver delivered fireworks from start to finish — and left fans buzzing about what’s next for several standout fighters.
Brendan Allen made the most of his short-notice opportunity in the main event, putting on a statement performance against Reinier de Ridder. The fight was stopped by de Ridder’s corner after sustained punishment, giving Allen a TKO victory and another highlight for his resume. Following the win, Allen called out Khamzat Chimaev, Dricus du Plessis, and Sean Strickland — setting his sights on the top of the middleweight division. Whether he gets one of those names next remains to be seen, but his performance in Vancouver proves he’s ready for elite competition.
In the co-main event, Mike Malott earned a bizarre decision win over Kevin Holland. While it wasn’t his most dominant showing, the Canadian fan-favorite continued to build momentum inside the octagon. A matchup with a ranked opponent could be next as he aims to break into the welterweight top 15.
Aiemann Zahabi also impressed with a split decision victory over veteran Marlon Vera, while Manon Fiorot’s lightning-fast knockout of Jasmine Jasudavicius turned heads in the flyweight division. The French contender continues to look like a future title challenger.
Elsewhere on the card, Charles Jourdain and Kyle Nelson both delivered exciting wins in front of their home crowd, adding to a night that showcased Canada’s growing presence in the UFC.
As for Reinier de Ridder, despite the tough loss, he remains one of the most well-rounded middleweights in the world — and a bounce-back fight later this year could easily put him back in the mix.
